SUSTAINABILITY SECTION DESIGN

The Destination Sustainability Index is a framework consisting of four pillars used to evaluate and measure the sustainability performance of a destination through the analysis of both proprietary and external data sources:

  • Social-Cultural Pillar: This pillar focuses on the impact of tourism on the social and cultural aspects of a destination.

  • Destination Management Pillar: This pillar highlights the perception, trust, and success of a destination.

  • Overtourism Pillar: This pillar assesses the extent of overtourism in a destination to address its negative impacts.

  • Environmental Pillar: This pillar evaluates the environmental impact of tourism and critical sustainability factors.

The index aims to provide a comprehensive assessment of sustainability efforts, enabling comparisons between different destinations and serving as a guide for making informed decisions and adopting sustainable practices.

The design includes a landing screen where users can view the various pillars or the overall index composed of them. Additionally, the index offers definitions for each pillar within their respective sections and provides feedback based on five evaluation parameters to support the improvement of sustainability practices.
